[Set Spoilers] G-BT09 Commons/Rares

Also, the Vanguard Weekly Bites episode was literally a two hour long stream with nothing you really care about. I mean, unless you want to know that I was getting pretty rage-y at Mark vs Batori taking literally over an hour.

Kelpie Rider, Vallas(?)

[CONT]: Sentinel
[AUTO]: (Counterblast 1, Soulblast 1) When this unit enters GC from your hand, you may pay the cost. If you do, call 5 cards from the top of your deck to GC at rest. If 2 or more units with Wave ability were called, during this battle this unit gets Shield +5000. If 3 or more units with the Wave ability were called, counter charge 1.
[AUTO](R)(Generation Break 1) Wave-1st: When this unit boost, this unit gets POWER +2000 until the end of the battle.

Wowee this is some kind of hot garbage. I mean, Quintet Wall argument aside: it also demands you to be playing Wave as a pure deck. And furthermore, the gains are entirely menial. And even worse, the soul blast cost. The deck they imply you should be playing has this issue where it loves to soul blast. A lot. Your own costs don’t mesh very well in Wave as a pure deck. This makes no real sense to me.

Struggle fin dragon(????)

[AUTO] (V/R) (Generation Break 1): When this unit attacks a Vanguard, this unit gets POWER +4000 during this battle.
[AUTO] (R) Wave-4th: (Counter Blast 1) When this unit’s attack hits a Vanguard, you may pay
the cost. If you do, stand this unit

I just don’t even know where to start with this card. Oh, I know. It has to bloody hit. Like, literally why. If it only had to attack and then it got the effect at the end of battle, would that have been such a huge problem? Really?

Blue Wave Admiral, Luciano

[ACT] (R) [1/Turn]: (Counter Blast 1 “Blue Wave” card) If you have a Grade 3 or higher “Blue Wave” Vanguard, during this turn this unit gets POWER +2000 and「[AUTO] (R) Wave-2nd: At the end of the battle that this unit attacks a Vanguard, stand this unit.」.

Well, this card is actually pretty damn good. Here’s the catch: you gotta run more Blue Wave units than just 6-8 Grade 3’s, 4 Foivos, and 4 Brutal Trooper. Assuming I maxed those cards and this card: that’s just a grand total of 20 cards with the Blue Wave name. I mean, there’s worse ratios to be had, being totally fair. This might actually be worth looking into because Swordmy was given the same treatment not too long ago. Granted, the difference is that Swordmy had other Jewel Knight triggers and didn’t have to sit on a Jewel Knight Vanguard: but I gotta see where I can go with this. This is the kind of card I want. I might actually dump Adelaide for this one. Not sure. Sure ain’t dropping Tidal Assault, that’s for sure. We’ll just find out as soon as I get around to testing this delicious looking thing.

Blue Wave Recruit, Giotis(?)

[AUTO]: Forerunner
[AUTO] (R) (Generation Break 1): (Counter Blast 1, send this unit
into your soul) When your Vanguard with “Blue Wave” in its name attacks, you may pay the cost. If you do, select 1 of your rear guards and stand it. During this turn, the selected rear guard gets POWER +2000.

Holy shit, this isn’t actually bad either. Maybe there’s a translation fuck-up and it only selects Blue Wave rear guards, hahaha. Very good forerunner for Blue Wave, which means I can actually drop Erikk from my build. It also means that riding Tetra-Drive won’t be as much of a death sentence as it could have been. Furthermore, it also means you can snipe a rear guard with Stacia on the first attack, and then send the Vanguard to their face, while standing Stacia at the full 11000 power. That’s ridiculously great!

Even better: this thing on the Tetra-boil turn. Golly gee, I’m getting really excited over this forerunner. I’m starting to think I’m being lied to, hahaha.

Snide Remark: So Maelstrom got fuck all? Really? I’m not seeing why it got literally nothing in this set. I mean, Disaster Maelstrom, but where the hell were the Maelstrom support units? Descendant and Raging Form got ’em, so uh… what happened? Was it because Maelstrom is literally generic? Was it because Wailing Thavas + Despina triggered somebody in R&D while set design was going on? What happened?

Commanding Knight, Neesa(?)

[AUTO]: Forerunner
[ACT] (R) (Generation Break 1) Ritual 3: (Rest this unit) Select up to 2 of your other units, during this turn those units get POWER +4000.

Another card I can include in Meme Sword without failure. Since its condition is virtually nonexistent, unless you’re playing Luard and cycling all the Grade 1’s back, this unit is pretty damn good. Rest it while it’s behind the Vanguard, spread power amongst your rear guards and become the most powerful of them all. I love it. I needed a new forerunner since I no longer desired Oscar while Carnivore Dragon was a thing: and then this thing decided to up the ante. This I can appreciate very much.

High Trebel Angel (more likely Highly Terrible Angel)

[ACT](R):{Send this unit into soul} Select 1 of your unit, during this turn it gets POWER +3000.

lmao rip Angel Feather for getting this.

Tear Drop Phoenix

This Heal Trigger is single-handedly the best card Angel Feather has gotten in this set outside of Celestial stuff probably. Praise be to phoenixes.

Yeah, this has been a pretty quiet reveal session overall. And literally everything revealed just sucks out loud, or is something I actually don’t give a rat’s ass for. I’ll make amends for this later by actually posting the rest of the things later. I just need to recover from how awful this spoiler session was.
