[Poster Spoilers] G-BT10: Fierce Battle of Fangs and Blades

wowee it’s been a while since I posted.

Time to admit something: I get heavily addicted to Pokemon very easy. There may not be much content, but I go into hours of breeding stuff and making new teams/sets. I’ll be burnt out pretty soon since I can feel the slog coming through. It helps that the card of the day of recent aren’t exactly interesting, per se. Gear Chronicle’s still going the way of Chonojet4ever, Brave stuff is cool but not anything inspiring to me, and I’ve never once really cared about Neo Nectar as a whole.

Wow that just seems like an excuse to never do work ever again.

[Stride] [AUTO](VC):[Counter Blast (1)] When this unit attacks, if you have a heart card with "Blau" in its card name, you may pay the cost. If you do, search your deck for up to one grade 3 card with "Blau" in its card name, reveal it, put it into your hand, shuffle your deck, and until end of that battle, this unit gets "[AUTO](VC) Limit Break 5:[Choose three cards from your hand, and discard them] At the end of the battle, you may pay the cost. If you do, put this unit into your G zone face up, choose a grade 3 card from your hand, and you may ride it as [Stand].".

Sonne Blaukluger

This makes me sad and angry about Disaster Maelstrom. Maybe even sadgry. Just fuck my shit up, fam. At least Disaster’s search is free, but the bonus is so mediocre that it may as well not exist. Ah well, nice to see Nova Grappler get something really cool. Although, that Limit Break 5 is a pretty intense boner killer. Rip a Heal, you lose that LB5 and start considering suicide. M-maybe I’m not as salty as I originally was then. Otherwise, it’s a +1 in a clan that barely gets +1’s. And because it’s a Blau, it further appreciates the +1 on a stride since the +1 piles up with Morgenrot’s +1’s. Although, that Counter Blast 1 is a pretty big problem. Blau spends counter blasts up the wazoo, and even if they do get to live the Break Ride meme dream, there’s no chance they have all the counter blasts to pay for everything. Much less have the counter blasts for anything to happen on the following turn. See where I’m going? Hopefully there’s a call to duty on this and they’ll provide Blau some support in that regard. Either that or I guess we’re really just gonna start running some pretty eh-to-awful options to keep ourselves afloat.

[AUTO](RC):[Retire this unit] At the beginning of your ride phase, you may pay the cost. If you do, until end of turn, if you Stride a G unit, you may Stride it without paying the cost of the Stride.

Savage Sorcerer

Did anybody really ask for this? I don’t think Tachikaze was in any desperate need for this kind of card. What’s even worse is that it’s not in an archetype that can search it out and go infinite with this kind of card: and it’s in a pretty terrible grade. There’s potential that “Savage” will be a real archetype, but right now: this card is just literally why.

Bloom-[AUTO](RC/GC) Generation Break 1:When your other unit with the same card name as this unit is placed on (RC) or (GC), choose up to two of your "Charm Maiden, Nicola" on (RC) or (GC), and it gets [Power]+4000/[Shield]+5000 until end of turn.

 Charm Maiden, Nicola

This card’s kinda cool. Has all kinda of flexibility, in regards to how it can be used. That’s always a winner in my book. My one thing will probably be that its power boost is not quite flexible by virtue of only being able to do things to itself. Card’s still pretty aight, although I’m not incredibly sure if this’ll make it to a Neo Nectar’s main deck. Grade 2 is pretty hard to think about, but I like to think there’s enough merit to the card to be worth experimenting with. If anything, it might help with defense! Being flexible as defense and offense is great, which is something the Marjukka-Launi variant offered. Now that variant can further its defenses with this card, which I think is pretty cool.

If you do, look at three cards from the top of your deck, search for up to one card from among them, call it to (RC), and put the rest on the bottom of your deck in any order.

Knight of Daylight, Kinarius

Speaking of flexible and cool cards…

This thing’s Unite fulfills itself, and that’s pretty damn cool. Instead of paying a counter blast cost or anything, it discards instead. It also gets power +4000 while Unite is active, which is pretty relevant. Especially relevant with Horsa. Can you imagine the power of this thing while under Scourge Point? Or hell, even while on Glorious Reigning Dragon! That power bonus is very nice for Gurguit decks to sit on. I like it.

What’s also relevant is the part where this thing can call from the deck to any RC. I mean, Gurguit had a tool like that already in Henrinus, but having a “costless” one is not so bad. Although, I secretly wish this thing was a Royal Paladin instead, just because of the discard cost hahahaha.

[AUTO](RC) Generation Break 1:[Soul Blast (1) & Retire this unit] When your grade 2 unit with the brave ability is retired from (RC) or (GC), you may pay the cost. If you do, return that card to your hand.

Knight of Encouragement, Harbon

Speaking of Royal Paladin: this card just kinda…

I don’t know quite how to put it. I don’t hate it, but I don’t love it either. I mean, it lets you go reckless with turns where you keep retiring a guy in your front row to call in a new dude. You fish that replaced dude back up, and you also happen to now have an open (RC) to call something else off of Brave Lancer or something. “Or something.” There’s only really one relevant target to this ability in the middle of the battle phase, or just straight up on your opponent’s turn: Escort Eagle.

Hmm. Yeah, still not seeing it. Also, lots of soul blast costs this time around. I’ve noticed that with a lot of the new Brave cards, seems to me like soul blasting a lot is gonna be a pretty big issue. ruh roh indeed.

[AUTO](Drop Zone) Generation Break 1 Ritual 3 (Active if there are three or more grade 1 cards in your drop zone):At the end of your turn, if you have a vanguard with "Luard" in its card name, you may put this card on the bottom of your deck. [AUTO]:When this unit is retired from (RC) for the cost or effect of your unit, if you have a vanguard with "Luard" in its card name, draw a card.

Belial Owl

This is a critical trigger that’s so good that you have no choice but to run it anyway. Meme Sword and “DIABLO” playstyles definitely should look into incorporating this card into their builds, since it’s as easy as striding into Dragdriver Luard and using the new Ritual tools to keep playing the game. The one problem is: running Dragdriver Luard. Okay, that’s not the real problem. The real problem is what happens at the end of turn. Since Strides return to the deck first before End Phase abilities come into play…

… yeah, I think you know what that means. For those of us who are lacking in the rulings department of this game: Luard’s name vanishes before you can activate this ability. Therefore, even if you did indeed go into Dragdriver Luard, you won’t get the extra recycle. Belial Owl is so friggin’ good, but it was off by a word or two to go infinite. At least it’s really good for the people that’re all over Luard, I guess. Deck certainly needs all the help it can get to become decent.

Shadowstitch-[AUTO](RC) Generation Break 1:At the end of the battle that this unit attacked a vanguard, if the attack did not hit, choose one of your units, until end of turn, it gets [Power]+2000, and "[CONT](RC):This unit can attack from the back row.". Stealth Rogue of Envy, Ikyu

Shockingly enough, it’s Murakumo that gets away with the best card in the entire poster. While acting like another copy of Yashabayashi, it also comes with the bonus of enabling your other units to keep on attacking your opponent. It has great applications, and lots of great potential already. This just lets you not bother with striding into Onibibu Radar/Kagamijishi. Which is great, since usually it was pretty hard to argue against either of those, but now your options are definitely blown wide open. Assuming there’s ever another good initial stride anyway, since the other options don’t really exist. Good thing this card actually adds on to those cards, so it’s a solid card either way.

I find that the bonus power for being called from the hand is a pretty nice touch overall, especially coming off of an Onibibu Radar. The potential +4000 during a Shibarakku Buster turn sounds like a great meme dream to live off of!

I may or may not be hoping for a new Yasuie Grade 3 just because I want it.

Anyhow, that’s all for today. I probably will do tonight’s card of the day. I dunno. Pokemon has me down by the leash, haha.

See you.
