[Card of the Day] Success

I always do like cards for Great Nature.

These are gonna have to be exceptions though.

[AUTO](VC/RC):Success 20000 (When your rear-guard's [Power] becomes 20000 or greater, this unit becomes successful until end of turn) [CONT](VC/RC):If this unit is successful, this unit gets [Power]+2000. [AUTO]:When this unit intercepts during the battle that your vanguard was attacked, this unit gets [Shield]+5000 until end of that battle.

ayy lmao

Is there anything I have to dump any insight on, here? Thing’s pretty bad, hombre. It’s just the usual Especial Intercept, but with an added “bonus”. It comes with the Success keyword, for one. It comes with a random power +2000 if you were to make this thing become successful (so it’d be a 22000 attacker alone, assuming you only decide to pump it by +12). So why does this suck?

Well. Simple, really. It doesn’t offer much of anything to you. This is Great Nature we’re talking about. Great Nature has a well-rounded mix of defense and offense through steroid-induced fields alongside drawing a bunch of cards at the end of the turn. I’m not really going to fault anyone, this is just a standard clone. What am I gonna do, flip a table? Please don’t, this is a very expensive turntable

Anyhow, the next card is the one that’s ultimately kinda disappointing.

[AUTO](RC)[1/Turn]:[Soul Blast (1)] When your unit is successful and is retired from (RC), you may pay the cost. If you do, draw a card.

Magnifier Chow Chow

Yeah, uh. Not happening. It’s not that it’s a totally awful card, it just suffers from not being a good card. It falls in the awkward middle of being alright, but not consistent enough to go off. Requiring a successful unit is one thing, but waiting for it to die is another thing. Plus, the soul blast cost makes it inefficient to maintain in the deck they would want you to play this card in (Success Big Belly probably). Okay yeah, the card’s pretty bad. There’s no real space for it either, all things considered. Could you really look me in the eye, then proceed to look at this card, and then look back at me holding four copies of Mikesaburo + Duckbill? Could you look me straight in the eye while I’m holding those and tell me you’d run Chow Chow? I mean, if you’re a meme lord and love the art, I guess I can’t really fight you. But would you seriously do it?

I didn’t think so.

A-at least these are just commons. I guess. There’s been busted commons before though, so uh. Awks.

It’s a good thing Great Nature is already borderline busted by itself, otherwise these cards would be kind of insulting (like the Oracle Think Tank ones we’ve seen so far). Ah well, maybe next time.

Click here if you want to see magic things happening. I doubt anything relevant will be revealed this week, but ayy. Maybe something cool will be revealed, at least! A RR maybe!

See you.
